i just found this website through a friend's link. i haven't yet read everything. i must say i believe your opinions are very amusing if i agree with them or not. i suppose i am not the sort of person you would want to see your site, being a more passive female and a great fan of memoirs of a geisha. (passive, but not afraid to kick ass) i think that your website is truly creative, and i never will neglect to give a compliment, but i really dont think you should speak for all japanese people in your slandering of guestbook entries. i have many japanese friends (nihojiin, not abc) that all love this book too because of the truthful information in it. i dont think that just because a man is white doesn't mean that he can't get his facts straight about japanese culture. in my opinion he doesn't really make some of the characters too gentle, such as hitsumomo (i dont quite remember the name) who is prepared to do what it takes to destroy a person. have you actually read the book though?

Well, first off, I think you are referring to Kim, when you are speaking of the "slandering" of guestbook entries. Myself, I started reading that book but got bored and fell asleep. The reason why I pick on that book, "Memoirs of a Geisha" is because if it was written as eloquently and was instead "Memoirs of a Sweatshop-Worker-Inside-a-90- degree-basement-working-overtime-and-underpaid" it would not sell as many copies as it did. Nor would you find Madonna donning her newest identity as a sweatshop worker after having read the book (If you remember, Madonna "became" a geisha after reading the book, saying she had "found her own inner geisha.)" Though I find Madonna a brilliant music maker, her Orientalist need to reinvent herself and stab the taboos of religion and culture to keep herself at the the cutting edge of pop culture is "the great American gag." The reality of the overworked and mistreated Asian woman is a bigger reality than that of the mysterious Geisha. Why is the Geisha more popular? Because the "geisha" appeals more as a literary subject to Western readers used to associating Asia with the mystery and fantasy of the long outdated "Geisha." Silver Eyes? Please! I've seen albino Asians but do you really expect me to buy that?

Well, Ken Tanaka (If that really is your name!). I archive the messages every few days (or start "fresh" as you say) so that the guestbook page doesn't crash.) So far, my guestbook and archives make up 3 Megs or something (almost 2500 postings to date! 1/15/01). If that was all on one page it would be bad news for visitors with older computers. I am missing your point though on how I claim to be anti-white trash though. How can I be "anti" when I find it so funny? But yes, the same way I get a kick out of watching Springer, I do get a kick out of watching people waste their time creating alter identities, impersonating one another, and arguing about completely irrelevant shit to each other. (Though it makes me sad when I watch it too much.) Come now, without white trash, what would there be to laugh at in this world?

You know all those people who signed with names like "rick martinez," "steve mcgarrett," "john sanford," "buford," "rufus holywater," "stephanie chambers," "barbara jackson," and "matt clancy?" Well, guess what: (drum roll) Yep. They are ALL the one and SAME person. That's right folks. And BBCM wasted all that time counting steve's responses. Time to retab, sweetie. And all those others who wasted all their time responding, especially White Bitch, Jade, and Mr. Black. Ha ha. The joke's on you. Don't believe me? Well, consider this: go back and look at any time one of the postings with any of the above monikers signed and almost always one of the others will respond less than two or three minutes later. Or, notice the archive pages when NONE of them posted on the same day because the same person who wrote all of them was not online. Or read closely the syntax (word order) and diction (word choice) of the postings of these individuals and you will find some common usages. Need more proof: NONE of the above-mentioned will post in the next few days denying this claim. If anyone does, I can write back denying I said it. Let me tell you a story. A few weeks ago, an old friend from high school was visiting me here in Los Angeles. We decided to go to the "Laugh Factory" on Sunset to watch some stand-up comedians at work. Well, we were very surprised because Bob Saget was a last minute addition to the line-up. Now, for those of you who don't know, Bob Saget (at my high school, he was referred to as "Bob Faggot," obstensibly for being such a huge and unfunny dork, alluding also to his unlikeability) was that anal retentive, "oh so caring and understanding, heart to heart" dad on that cheesey late 80's, early 90's family sitcom (if you can even call it a "sitcom") "Full House". He was also the not-so-funny host of "America's Funniest Home Videos" for eight years. He has lost appeal to the public eye who never bought into his horrid comic sensibility and has since been lampooned on movies like "Half Baked" and shows like "South Park." Apparently, with Hollywood only knocking on his door to make fun of him, he has turned to stand-up comedy as a means to salvage his career.

So basically, it goes like this. His entire stand-up routine was him trying to denounce his image as the nice guy dad, Mr. Tanner, that he was on the show. He artificially employed slang and lingo, making a ton of very unfunny jokes about hos and bitches, pube shaving, and how he wanted the Olson twins to "shut the fuck up" when he was on the set of Full House (actually, that was the only joke that got a positive response). Nobody was laughing, because he was not funny, and the gag of seeing America's favorite dad swearing and cussing got old quick. My friend and I just felt sorry for the guy. Nobody had respect for him, and he was just being heckled the whole time he was up there. No matter who he tries to claim he is, he will always be a big unfunny dork. His career in Hollywood is essentially up because the more he tries to "dismantle" the public's perception of him, the more he invalidates himself as a person to be taken seriously.

The point of my story Mr. Chief Auditor, is that whoever you try to pretend/ claim to be, at the end you will always be Bob Saget-- neither well respected nor well respected. The more you talk, the more you try to claim different personalities and agendas, the less people care to listen because you are perpetually fucked. Nobody can take you seriously or bother to read your agenda because at the core of it all you are not very enlightening, entertaining, or interesting. And you know what else? I have a special counter on my guestbook and get stats like what time people open up my guestbook page, where they are from, what ISP they use, etc. Only about 25-50 visitors stop in per day and I doubt that all of them take the time to sift through the archives for your messages. So I don't know what all this flame throwing shit is all about because you know what? You missed.

it's good to see there are still some nice people checking this website. I probably sound like a dork, but I've been reading and following this guest book for a week or so, and I nearly broke in to tears. Today it Martin Luther King Jr. Day. At lot of us got off of work and school to celebrate and commemorate him and all he has done. It's a pity that even so many years later, there is still so much hatred and ignorance. To everyone else that knows what I'm going through, thank you. Don't let the other people get you down. It's not always easy, but it can be done. There is always a friend near by.
